Understanding the first type is fairly simple The point-to-multipoint mode with broadcast emulation is one of the RFC-defined modes of operation, and it basically emulates a broadcast multi-access network Because all routers are in a full mesh, the operation of OSPF can emulate a broadcast multi-access segment (like Ethernet), where all routers can communicate with each other A DR and BDR will be elected, and all routers should use the same IP network/subnet address for the multipoint network Figure 26-23 shows an example of this network

Let s take a look a how to add simple documentation to the CocoaWGet program. Creating HTML documentation The first step is to create your documentation in HTML, making sure that it conforms to HTML 3.2. For this task, I use BBEdit, a text-based, non-WYSIWYG editor. Open the CocoaWGet folder and open the folder called CocoaWGet Help. This folder holds all help files for the program. There are different ways to structure your documentation, but let s keep it as simple as possible. Under this folder are two subfolders (graphics and html) and a single HTML file called cocoawgettitle.html:

Figure 26-24: A star point-to-multipoint network The problem with this network type (with most protocols) is that the multipoint link is using a single IP network/subnet address, but all routers cannot communicate with each other If a "spoke" router learns of a path through another "spoke" router, it will not be able to send packets to that spoke because they cannot communicate, even though they are on the same logical network For a star network, one solution is to use point-to-point subinterfaces and assign each subinterface a different IP network/subnet address (You could also use static frame-relay map statements, but point-to-point subinterfaces are easiest) Figure 26-25 shows this configuration

Figure 26-25: A star point-to-multipoint network, converted to point-to-point A second solution is to use the RFC-defined multipoint mode for OSPF This mode of operation actually creates host routes (/32 routes) for each spoke router, pointing back to the hub router The hub router then has host routes pointing to each spoke router Using this setup, each spoke can communicate with other spokes by virtue of the hub router's connections For partially meshed topologies, the process gets even more complicated In this situation, you have the same problem as with a star topology, but only for some routers For instance, take the network shown in Figure 26-26

If the movement of the camera is faster that the shutter speed, the image will be blurred (to put it another way, less than sharp) This effect is commonly called camera motion blur Unlike the motion blur that results when the subject is moving too fast for the camera shutter to stop it, camera motion blur rarely produces a photograph that one would consider to be of acceptable quality

Figure 26-26: A partial mesh point-to-multipoint network This network has two routers (Routers 2 and 3) that qualify as a full mesh with the hub router, but the other router (Router 4) is in a star-type arrangement with the hub router The problem with this arrangement is that Router 4 will never be able to send packets through Routers 2 or 3, because it has no direct connection with those routers Two possible solutions to this problem are to either add another PVC to make the network a full mesh, or split the network into two separate networks, as shown in Figure 26-27
